Stand # 011, Île d'Orléans, Québec, Canada, 2020

Wood fire. Strawberries. Blueberries. Maple syrup.

Île d'Orléans, in the St. Lawrence River near Quebec City, has been known since the 19th century for a soil and microclimate suited to small-fruit cultivation, Quebec's first strawberry farm was established here, and the island once supplied up to 90% of Quebec City's markets in the 1930s.
